This was for mothers, daughters, sisters (& Sarah)

We rode from Chit Chat Lounge in Pompano to Flossie's in Dania Beach. Breakfast buffet and mimosas, then a trooper escort to 95. Fun friends, great hospitality, and excellent cause made a day that was fun and worthwhile.

Independence Weekend

Next year, we'll get a flag for the bike!

Wonderful times with new friends on their new bike: Boston's to Two Georges ... Cafe 27 to Flossies ...

we got the good weather, had lots of laughs and put on a few miles.

(to play the slideshow, click ONCE on the center arrow, move your cursor aside and wait for it to start)

Sorry but I gotta do this ... if you FIND a B&Bhead moment in the slideshow, I'll buy YOUR drink next ride!

Last day of May

10 a.m. Cafe 27. Next stop Flossie's. Then to BlueFish. Good company, new friends.

And we met a local celebrity.

This is Miss Pineapple, selling Nitrogen to the biker crowd at Cafe 27, with her companion C-Note.

She's a sweetheart. She's got moxie. And no one I know can wear a Harley hat like this girl.

Sunday ride to IslaMorada

Ha! Kickstands up at the Starbucks at 136 off of 595 ... around 10am? Who was watching the clock ... Burt and Carol met us there and we followed Burt out of the lot, on our way to Key Largo or parts thereabout ...

west to 27, south, first stop at Four Corners, to wander the truckstop and psyche up for the ride. Alternate route to the Keys, east to Alabama Jacks on Card Sound Road. Fuel up (our own tanks, that is, with a couple beers and lots of diet coke).

On south to mile marker 82 in IslaMorada, for lunch at Lorelei's. This is what the Keys are all about. Excellent food, tucked away on the Gulf-side, frozen drinks, and the promise of a gorgeous sunset. We didn't stay that long, but long enough to relax, shift to stay in the shade of the big umbrella and then back to the bikes.

One very long trek home to Fort Lauderdale & Boca ... all the way up A1A through Coconut Grove etc.

We HAD to make a stop at Bourgets, just to stretch our legs. Actually, it was my request. Demand. Stop, now. I had a vision of that leg vein thing that you get on airplanes, that can kill you. I can say, but I'm too lazy to find out how to spell it. At any rate. Ten minutes, a cold Bud Lime (don't grimace: try one) and we were good to make it home. Burt and Carol powered through all the way to Boca. They are the pros.

A full day of riding. Gorgeous weather. Wonderful friends. $11 worth of gas, roundtrip.

"I just took a movie!"

Sunday West to the Everglades

First stop Hooters at Pines and University, for fried pickles, chicken and a pitcher of beer. The floating ziplock of ice cubes kept the beverage chilly.

We got a chuckle from an obvious weekend-dad, getting all the Hooters girls to sign calendars for his two sons: about 13 and 15? "Hey mom, look what DAD got us for EASTER!"

Two cool guys with cool bikes - older Yamaha Roadstars - they did lots of work on these and the bikes show it. Very awesome.

Then we rode straight west. Headed for the edge of the Everglades, and a trip north on 27 up to the Chikki Hut. It's called "Cafe 27" a truck stop, biker bar, restaurant, on US 27 just north of Griffin Road, technically in Weston. Live band and a crowd that grew as the day progressed. The ride back to downtown Fort Lauderdale was 35 minutes on 595. Great Sunday ride, the sun was shining and lots of bikes were out. Good people watching, bike admiring and attire critiquing. Maybe next ride, Anaconda does the bikini top solo, to get some sun.

We see people we know, everywhere we go. Kind of becoming locals, maybe, huh?

Flossies Sunday

Good ride. Great company. Eating. Drinking. Open on Sunday ... call, we'll get there.
